The Accuracy Surrounding Bacteria and Safe Water Quality

Bacteria is typically given a bad reputation, especially when it is tested for in Water Quality. Not all Bacteria is created equal. While there are 5 known kinds of bacteria known as coliforms that are found in most water supplies, there is just one strain that can pose a potential jeopardy if ingested either through the mouth, cuts, nose, ears or other skin openings. Of course, this particular strain does cause fear but necessarily testing high for a bacteria in a water source does not necessarily mean that it's hazardous.

There are five different forms of bacteria known in coliforms that are usually present in Water Quality testing. The various strains are Citrobacter, E-Coli, Serratia, Klebsiella, and lastly Enterobacter. Before going on, you are probably already well too familiar with the E-Coli strain and the actual one that is threatening would be E. Coli 0157:H7. Nevertheless the majority of the cases of a dangerous E. Coli are a result of undercooked beef from animal products

The cases where E. Coli have revealed in a Water Quality testing location are rare. This would be as the result of animal or people fecal contamination. The systematic cause that one would get sick would be because of the pathogens released.

The good news is, that when testing water for bacteria and coliforms they are often easily identifiable. More great news is simply that if there was a examination on the water for a selected bacteria and the test came back positive, the method for cleaning the water supply is relatively simple as the bacteria respond to treatment. Though the pathogens, whether discovered in the liner of a warm blooded animal or transported away by human waste, is a more difficult process. Generally, on the whole water treatment plants purify and cleanse the water to safe standards. In older water systems, pathogen’s, bacteria and protozoa’s may infect the water after the treatment plants through damaged water systems.
